I am reading Black And White by Paul Volponi, it is a book about two teens named Marcus and Eddie and their internal struggle. Marcus is an African-American, Eddie is a Caucasian. They are star basketball players at their high school, who look past stereotypes. Marcus and Eddie are bestfriends who are practically brothers who stick by each others side no matter what. But one mistake could change their lives forever

At the beginning of Spring Break I didn't do much. I spent most of my time inside, because of the weather. I still had fun my brothers and I played some games together. We played for hours on end, which isn't very healthy. Then I left for Des Moines to go visit my grandma. While at my grandma's I saw a few of my cousins.
Towards the end of Spring Break I spent most the time at my friend's house. We didn't do very much, we watched Youtube for about two hours. Then the last two days of Spring Break I was home with my family. We watched movies together, that's pretty much all we did. Then on Monday I had surgery, so I had a extra day of Spring Break. 1. In a paragraph or two compare (similarities) and contrast (differences) Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Some similarities and differences between Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas were that Night was set in a concentration camp(s), and focused on one main character unlike The Boy in the Striped Pajamas were it was focused on two young boys.
2. Choose 1 character from Night or one character from Boy in the Striped Pajamas to analyze. Make note (explain) of their physical appearance, character traits, feelings, demeanor, thoughts, etc. Bruno is the one of the main characters in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Bruno is a curious adventurous boy who doesn't understand what is going on around him. Bruno is clueless about what is going to happen to his Jewish friend Schmuel. 3. How have your thoughts or understandings of the Holocaust changed since completing this unit (background research, Night, Boy in the Striped Pajamas? My understanding of the Holocaust hasn't really change, because I read Night last year and I've watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas in sixth grade. But as my brain matured my thoughts of what happened to six million people have changed. 4. Which did you like better and why (book or movie)? I liked the book more, because it can describe everything better. It can make you feel like as if you were there watching all the bad things happen. 5. Any final thoughts or questions you have regarding either the book, movie, or Holocaust in general? Why do people thing the Holocaust never happened. There's proof, survivors, and even videos and pictures. Tough Questions
Page 82 On this page Elie asked his father, "what are we gonna do." Elie's father had to asked himself what would have a better result. This questions makes me wonder the result would have been if Elie decided to leave his father. Again and Again Page 99 Elie realized that people who were close to death or dead would be thrown off the train so Elie begins to wake his father, but his father will not wake he just keeps repeating "Father wake up! Father they're gonna throw you off the train." The author brought this up again and again because he wanted to save his father from being killed. Contrasts & Contradictions Page 103 Meir Katz became very negative instead of staying strong. He gave up, " Why do they not just shoot us now." He acted this way because he lost all hope he couldn't go on much longer The first thing I would do as President is make sure everyone has equal rights. I would enforce this by not judging people because the way they look or act like. This is very important, because everyone deserves to have the same rights, religion, race, and culture they all should be equal in everyone's eyes.
Something that is important is peace. Peace in the world is a difficult thing to do, because all the countries have different opinions. I believe that if we sit all the worlds powers down, that we can come up with some way to stop all the violence. It would take years to accomplish, but it would worth it. I feel as if that we cannot fight forever, one day someone gonna give up that will be the day for peace. As my term is ending I would try to establish someway to slow crimes down in the United States, make speeches to places that no one would bother to help. See what they need and use all my power to help. I would listen to what the people need and not what they want. I want to feel accomplished and hope that I will be remembered as the President who helped the United States become successful and peace by the time my term(s) is done. Some basic skills 18 year old's need... One important skill an 18 year old needs is responsibility. If I didn't have any responsibilities I pretty much wouldn't be an adult. I would not have to deal with most people would have to deal, always showing up late to things, never caring about what people are doing to property.
Final skill that I think is very important is respect. You have to give respect to get respect. Respect I find very important being an adult because how would you get a job disrespecting the person offering you that job. Answer absolutely nothing, but in summary I spent most of my time playing with my 9 month old brother. Then after all that I helped my dad out with watching my 4 other siblings while he wrapped Christmas presents. About a two days later I went back to my mom's house so I could spend what was left of Winter break with my sister and brothers.
I am thankful for technology, family, and friends. My friends are very important to me they bring me up when I feel low. I don't know what I would do without them. Also I am thankful for my family they make me feel happy when I am sad. Family is very important I care for all of my family. Friends come and go family is forever. Without technology I honestly wouldn't know what do have the time, and I wouldn't be typing this boring blog. The world would be so different without technology and I am just really happy that I am in the generation of the internet.
My thoughts after the election personally I didn't care for the Republican or the Democratic argument saying one's racist and the other is corrupt, we can't do very much about that. I think Donald Trump has potential to become a pretty great president, if he would worry about everyone's problems instead of his own. I also think Hilary could have become a great president, but she will have to wait 4-8 years. The Clinton family may have political experience, but Trump had the popular vote by promising things he may or may not have the power to do. To finalize this topic I will say I'm happy with how the Presidential Election turned out.
Good Luck United States. |
